Visit the 'Where
you Stand' page by clicking here and you will
establish whether you are employed under a
State or Federal Industrial Relations jurisdiction or to locate an Employee
Collective Agreement or Enterprise Agreement which governs your workplace. If
you are certain that you are employed under the Federal System (your employer is
a trust or Pty Ltd company) and there is no agreement governing your workplace,
from 1 Jan 2010, your pay and working conditions are now governed by the
Security Services Industry Award 2010. Click here
to go to the page 'New Award 2010' to see how
this Award affects you. A pay
calculator is included on this page to work out your pay entitlement. Visit
the "Queensland
Fair Trading Licensing Register and Search" web page by clicking here.
If they are not licensed you can then contact Queensland Fair Trading by
clicking here. For
security licensing in Queensland

employed under the Queensland Industrial Relations system (employer is a sole
trader) then your pay and conditions are governed by the SECURITY
INDUSTRY (CONTRACTORS) AWARD - STATE 2004 which has an Amendment
which updates pay and allowances to the present day. The power to
adjust pay and allowances lies with the Queensland Industrial Relations
Commission. Divide any of the weekly pay rates by 38 to arrive
at an hourly rate. Click on: to open in a separate window. If
you are employed by a Sole Trader or Partnership
and are currently covered by the State Award, your pay and conditions
will be governed by the Federal system at the beginning of 2011.
State awards will continue to operate before terminating in 2011and be
replaced by the Modern Award – the Security Services Award.
